The Real Secret of Thoroughly Excellent Companies – Peter Bregman – HarvardBusiness.org: “Peter Bregman spins a story about the secret ingredient in making a truly excellent company – trust. His case study – the Four Seasons Dallas, TX hotel”

(Via Harvard Business Publishing.)

Trust should be what nonprofit organizations and other groups should be aiming for as well. The building of trust to build a better community, society and world in general. Of course, Peter touches on more than just trust. He also tells us about the value of communication.

I’m not going to lie to you. Communication requires trust, trust requires communication. It can be difficult and it certainly takes some hard work to develop. You’ve got to be willing to put yourself out there and really empathize.

It means you have to be willing to listen and to learn. Not always easy if daily life at work or at home is stressful, under the razor wire or in the bonfire.

Give it your best shot friends. I have faith in your dedication. Maybe you’ll inspire me and others to go further in their efforts to improve communication and relationship building.
