The Fool (drawing by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law)
A lot of people I meet or help don’t seem to know what they want to do with their lives. Is it just me? Do human beings really know what they want out of life? Who should tell them what their goals should be?
As Galileo once said, “You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him to find it within himself.” I tell people that making the plan is easy the only thing left is to make it happen. It’s all about overcoming resistance — the little voice in your head that says you should fear doing something.
A person like me, I just help people to see their life from another angle and to think about what they’re really after. Sometimes the answers are just in front of them and they fear to seize it. I offer a little bit of encouragement and inspiration to help them along.
Anyhow, they say life’s journey begins with the Fool. If you’re afraid to make mistakes then the journey hasn’t really started.
